From June 18 to 20, 2025, Guangzhou Unique Biotechnology’s Technical Director, Dr. Li Chujun, represented the company at the 2025 Asia Insect Industry and Research Forum held in Malaysia.
Co-organized by the Asian Food and Feed Insect Association (AFFIA) and the University of Malaysia, the forum brought together leading experts from around the world to discuss the innovative applications and future prospects of insects as alternative protein sources — spanning human food, pet nutrition, livestock feed, and regenerative agriculture.
As the Vice Chairman Unit of the Insect Protein Industry Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA) and the Vice Chairman Unit of the National Black Soldier Fly Industry Alliance (CNFA), Dr. Li Chujun delivered a keynote speech and joined panel discussions on behalf of Guangzhou Unique Biotechnology.
She engaged in in-depth exchanges with academic and industry experts, sharing insights on market trends, technological breakthroughs, and collaborative opportunities within the global insect sector.
During the forum, participants also visited Bioloop Insect Company, a leading black soldier fly farming enterprise in Malaysia.
Bioloop has pioneered the use of palm oil residues as rearing substrates, achieving large-scale BSF production through an innovative and sustainable model that provides valuable reference for the industry.
Through this event, Guangzhou Unique Biotechnology further strengthened its international connections and deepened its understanding of regional development trends across Asia’s insect industry. The company will continue to promote global collaboration and technological exchange, contributing to the sustainable development of the insect protein sector.
